Coveney: ESB strike 'the last thing the economy needs right now'

A senior Cabinet Minister has described the threat of strike action by ESB workers as "unnecessary".

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney says any action would be a retrograde step for Ireland and has urged both sides to enter talks to resolve the dispute over the company pension fund.
