Software firm to create 75 new jobs

German software firm SQS is to create 75 now jobs in Dublin and Belfast.

The company, which already employs 200 people in Ireland, plans to expand over the next three years.

Fifty of the jobs will be in Dublin, and 25 positions will be on offer in Belfast.

These latest jobs are high end specialist roles - the company is currently looking to recruit up to 30 skilled positions before the end of this year.

"We are delighted to be in a position today to announce our commitment to meeting such ambitious recruitment plans, both in the immediate and longer term 3 year timeframe," CEO Dik Vos said.

"There is no doubt that recruitment of such specialist roles remains a challenge.

"However working closely with Ireland’s third level colleges and initiatives such as the SQS Graduate In-Take Programme, have proved very successful and will remain a key part of our recruitment strategy, providing valuable training and investment in developing key skillsets to support businesses in the Irish economy to the required SQS quality standards.”

"I would like to commend the company for the contribution it is making through its graduate programme and its work in building links with Irish third level colleges."

Headquartered in Cologne, Germany, the company employs approximately 2,600 staff.

Along with a strong presence in Germany and the UK, SQS has further subsidiaries in Egypt, Finland, France, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa and the US.

In 2012 the company generated revenues of €210.1m.
