Survey: Less than half of firms aware of Govt jobs scheme

It has emerged that more than half of Irish employers are unaware of the Government's Action Plan for Jobs.

A survey carried out by recruitment company Hays Ireland shows 44% of employers have never heard of the JobBridge programme with over half of those expressing a wish to hire staff with the help of the Government.

Despite this, the outlook on the jobs market is on the up, with over 50% of companies saying they will be hiring new staff this year.

Richard Eardley, Managing Director with Hays, says the government need to be clearer on their Action Plan for Jobs to raise confidence in the market.
