Samsung in upbeat profit forecast

Mobile phone giant Samsung expects second quarter operating profits of between 6.5 trillion won (€4.6bn) and 6.9 trillion won (€4.87bn), roughly 80% higher than the previous year.

Analysts believe the sharp rise in operating profit was driven by Galaxy smartphone sales.
