Vodafone Ireland increases customer base in final quarter of 2011

Mobile phone operator Vodafone Ireland added 22,700 customers, according to its interim management statement issued today.

The news means they now have 2.47 million customers by the end of the quarter ended December 31, 2011, with 2.24 million mobile customers.

Vodafone Ireland increased their fixed line and DSL customers numbers to 232,000.

They recorded an 80% rise in video traffic across its fixed customer base over the last 12 months.

Vodafone's smartphone sales increased by 50% quarter on quarter and the devices now represent 2/3 of all billpay mobile sales.
