Fiscal Compact spells tougher budgets, claims FF

The opposition is claiming the EU's so-called Fiscal Compact will force the Government to introduce even tougher budgets in the years ahead.

Ahead of tomorrow's critical EU summit on the deal, Fianna Fáil is urging the Taoiseach to spell out the implications of the compact, which makes deficit reduction a legal requirement for eurozone governments.
