The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has prepared a rescue plan worth up to €600bn if the debt crisis in Italy deteriorates, according to reports in Italian newspaper La Stampa.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has prepared a rescue plan worth up to €600bn if the debt crisis in Italy deteriorates, according to reports in Italian newspaper La Stampa.

The loan of between €400bn and €600bn would give Italy a window of 12 to 18 months to implement budget cuts and growth-boosting reforms.
