SIMI: Road tax hike 'will hit State's revenue on cars'

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has said a hike in road tax would be "a step too far" for the industry, coming on top of a proposed 2% rise in VAT.

It is understood the Government is considering increasing motor tax by up to 5% in next month's Budget.
