Japanese camera firm Olympus has said its chairman Tsuyoshi Kikukawa is stepping down amid widening scrutiny into past acquisitions.

Japanese camera firm Olympus has said its chairman Tsuyoshi Kikukawa is stepping down amid widening scrutiny into past acquisitions.

The company recently sacked its British CEO Michael Woodford after he raised questions about extraordinarily high fees and price tags on several acquisitions.

Olympus said it will reveal more at a press conference in Tokyo later today.
