Bank of Ireland has today reported a loss before tax of €723m for the first six months of the year, down from a loss of €1.3bn this time last year.

Bank of Ireland has today reported a loss before tax of €723m for the first six months of the year, down from a loss of €1.3bn this time last year.

In its financial statement for the first half of this year, the bank also said that impairment charges on loans to customers have fallen.
