It is hoped the opening of a new rail spur in Dublin Port today will boost the competitiveness of rail freight.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar will be on hand this morning to officially open the €1.5m 'branch line' - which means freight trains will be able to have direct access to ships at Ocean Pier.
