The members of retail industry group, Retail Excellence Ireland (REI), support Government plans to abolish upward only rent review clauses, thus allowing shops to pay a fair market rent.

From 2000 to 2007, retail rents increased by 240%, according to the group, while consumer prices increased by 30%.
