Web of intrigue sparks Mazda recall
Japanese car maker Mazda said today it was recalling more than 50,000 cars in the US and 15,000 in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, after discovering spiders’ webs in the vents.
The company, which is recalling Mazda 6 cars from the 2009-2010 model years said a spider could weave a web in a vent connected to the fuel tank system and clog up the tank’s ventilation.
