IBEC have said that, although inflation has increased in recent months, price pressures over the next couple of years are likely to remain very subdued.

IBEC chief economist Fergal O'Brien said: "The commodity price increases in food and fuels are very evident in the latest numbers but the annual consumer price index increase of 1.3% in December was in line with expectations.
