Honohan backs plan to sell Irish banks to foreign investors

Central Bank governor Patrick Honohan said today that Irish banks should be sold off to foreign owners, who could bring fresh capital and new management skills.

In an address to the Institute of International and European Affairs, Professor Honohan said overseas investment would help put the country's banks back on a firm footing.
