Budget airline easyJet said it carried an extra 400,000 passengers during June compared with a year earlier, a period when rival British Airways suffered strike action.

The Luton-based group flew 4.5 million passengers, up 9.4%, while the load factor on its planes rose to 87.2% from 86.3% a year ago.
