The UK housing market recovery appeared to accelerate during January with prices jumping by 1.2%, figures showed today.

The UK housing market recovery appeared to accelerate during January with prices jumping by 1.2%, figures showed today.

The ongoing imbalance between supply and demand pushed the value of property up for the ninth month in a row, leaving the average UK home costing £163,481 (€188,206) - 8.6% more than in January 2009.
