The size of the British Airways pension deficit has grown to £3.7bn (€4.1bn), the company announced today, as the airline was braced for news of a crippling Christmas strike by its cabin crew.

The size of the British Airways pension deficit has grown to £3.7bn (€4.1bn), the company announced today, as the airline was braced for news of a crippling Christmas strike by its cabin crew.

The company said the deficit in its two pension schemes has grown from £2.1bn (€2.3bn) in 2006, an increase of 76%.
