Figures expected to confirm shopping exodus to North

New figures out today are expected to confirm that shoppers from the Republic have spent more than €700m across the border in 2009.

The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan told the Dáil last night that the Government has lost more than €170m in tax because of cross-border purchases.
