SIMI: Up to 10,000 jobs at risk

The Society for the Irish Motor Industry has said 10,000 jobs are at high risk in the sector.

It is calling on the Government to introduce a scrappage scheme in next month's Budget in order to protect jobs and stimulate sales.

It also wants a VRT refund scheme for exported used cars and initiatives to get banks lending to both consumers and businesses.
