Gold rises to record high price

The price of gold has soared to a record $1,164.85 an ounce in Hong Kong today.

The precious metal climbed from Friday's close of $1,145.00-1,146.00 as Wall Street suffered its third loss in a row and interest rates continued to push down the US dollar.
