Japan’s economy has expanded at an annual rate of 4.8% in the third quarter.

Japan’s economy has expanded at an annual rate of 4.8% in the third quarter.

The result marks the second straight quarter of expansion and the biggest rise in real gross domestic product (GDP) since 2007.

According to preliminary data released today, GDP was up 1.2 % from the previous three-month period. GDP rose at an annual pace of 2.3% in the April-June period after a record decline in the first quarter.
