Hoteliers urge freeze in charges, cut in local authority rates
Hoteliers have called on the Government to introduce a three-year freeze on public sector charges at 2008 levels and a 30% cut in local authority rates as part of a package of measures aimed at bolstering the ailing tourism sector.
The Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) in its pre-Budget submission to Finance Minister Brian Lenihan also called for the abolition of the €10 tourist tax.
