The European Commission’s statistics authority Eurostat has made a preliminary decision that the operations of NAMA should be recorded outside the Government's general books.

The European Commission’s statistics authority Eurostat has made a preliminary decision that the operations of NAMA should be recorded outside the Government's general books.

This means that the assets taken on by the National Assets Management Agency can be treated as off balance sheet and will not increase the Government's debt ratio.
