In a rare show of unity, Ireland's three main airlines have today joined forces to call on the Government to scrap the €10 tax on all passengers departing from Irish airports.

The tax was announced as part of last October's budget and formed part of the Government's initial efforts to offset the growing deficit in the public finances.
