Burberry boosted by handbag sales

Luxury goods firm Burberry followed up its successful return to London Fashion Week today by posting sales figures at the top end of expectations.

The group’s shares rose by more than 3% after it reported a positive response from shoppers to its autumn and winter collection, with handbags and casual outerwear particularly popular.
