Retailers pessimistic about Christmas period

Two-thirds of Irish retailers rate the prospects for their businesses between now and Christmas as poor or very poor, according to a survey by their representative group.

Retail Ireland says a similar number of respondents expected business to business to decline in the coming months, despite a traditional splurge in spending in the run-up to the festive period.
