IBEC: Live Register figures 'much better than expected'

IBEC has said that it was a welcome relief to see a levelling off in the Live Register in September.

IBEC Senior Economist Fergal O’Brien said: "The September Live Register is much better than consensus expectations and shows the smallest increase since early 2008. The global economy has picked up considerably during the summer months and trading conditions for exporters are now much more positive - this is helping the employment situation in the traded sectors of the economy.
