The number of new private cars licensed in June fell by almost 35% compared to the same month in 2008, accordig to new figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

There were 4,833 new private cars licensed in June 2009, compared with 7,369 in June 2008, a decrease of 34.4%, the CSO said.
