ISEQ closes up almost 75 points

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was valued at 2,632.66 points at close this evening, a rise of 74.18.

Index majors on an upward trend included Kerry Group, up 1.00 to 16.95; CRH, rising 49c to 18.00; Tullow Oil, up 41c to 10.22; Kingspan, cheering 30c to 4.40; C&C, up 16c to 2.15; Paddy Power, also up 16c, to 16.15; Glanbia, rising 13c to 2.25; Smurfit Kappa, up 8c to 3.00, and Elan Corp, rising 4c to 4.92.
