EC backs Govt plan to provide business grants

The European Commission has given the Government the go-ahead to provide grant aid to businesses facing funding problems.

Up to €500,000 can be passed on to small and medium-sized firms in financial difficulty in the form of grants, interest-rate subsidies or public loans.
