ISEQ marginally down
The ISEQ index of Irish shares edged down in early trading, shedding 2.64 points to 2,298.34 by 11.30am.
Fortunes were mixed among the financials, with AIB up 9c to 1.26 and Bank of Ireland rising 8c to 0.97, but Irish Life & Permanent falling 9c to 1.60.
Index majors on an upward trend included Kerry Group, climbing 19c to 14.09; Elan Corp, up 6c to 4.39; Kingspan, gaining 5c to 3.37 and Greencore, edging up 2c to 0.84.
On the fallers' board, Glanbia fell 10c to 2.33; Ryanair was down 6c to 2.92 and rival Aer Lingus slipped 4c to 0.68.
