ISEQ up at close

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 43.88 points to 1,991.29 this evening, a gain of 2.25%.

Banking shares rose across the board, with AIB up 3c to 0.47, Bank of Ireland also up 3c to 0.24 and Irish Life & Permanent rising 2c to 0.79.
