The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 15 points to 2,478.08 by market close.
There was positive news within the financial sector with Irish Life and Permanent jumping 16c to €2.06. Bank of Ireland was up just 3c to 70c and AIB gained a modest 1c to €1.18.
