The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed this evening at 2,192.13 dropping 38.46 points.
Performances in banking shares showed signs of improvement after yesterday's poor trading with Allied Irish Bank climbing 12c to 57c while Irish Life and Permanent rose 20c to €1.40.
