The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 18 points to 2,660.68 by 11am.
There was good news within the financial sector, Irish Life and Permanent led the way with a jump of 16c to €2.23. AIB was up 4c to €2.02, while Anglo Irish Bank rose by 2c to 26c and Bank of Ireland kept the trend going by gaining 1c to 93c per share.
