The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 19 points to 2,641.12 by market close.
There was mostly positive news within the financial sector, Irish Life and Permanent came out on top with a jump of 16c to €2.07. AIB was up 10c to €1.98 with Bank of Ireland gaining a modest 2c to 92c.
