Stronger commodity stocks and a market rally in Tokyo helped the FTSE 100 Index add 1% during the last full trading session of the year today.

Stronger commodity stocks and a market rally in Tokyo helped the FTSE 100 Index add 1% during the last full trading session of the year today.

The FTSE gained more than 100 points yesterday and stood 37.1 points higher at 4356.5 by mid-morning.
