ISEQ down 62 points
The ISEQ index of Irish shares fell 62 points to 2,369.44 by market close.
Following a day of controversial news involving Anglo Irish Bank with the resignation of the bank's chairman Sean Fitzpatrick, after it became public that he has personal loans with the bank totalling €87m. Chief executive David Drumm also handed in his resignation, a statement from the bank said Mr Drumm's resignation would take effect immediately, though he will work with the bank in a transition period until a new chief is appointed. Having initially fallen 5c earlier today, shares in Anglo Irish Bank gained 3c to 35c by the end of today's trading.
