ISEQ up almost 50 points

The ISEQ index of Irish shares bucked the international trend today, staying in the black to close up 48.59 points at 2,521.35.

Financial fortunes were however mixed, with AIB and Bank of Ireland both slipping 6c to 1.84 and 0.86 respectively, and Irish Life & Permanent shedding some 24c or 14.12% to 1.46.
