NIB predicts 8% unemployment next year

National Irish Bank is predicting that unemployment will reach 8% next year as companies continue to lay off workers due to the economic downturn.

In its latest economic forecast, the bank said Irish exporters will be hard hit as much of the developed world slides into recession for the first time since World War II.
