Cowen pledges not to increase corporation tax

The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, has pledged not to increase corporation tax in response to the huge deterioration in the public finances this year.

Speaking at the official opening of the new Thomond Park in Limerick last night, Mr Cowen said the Government would re-focus its efforts to find new export-led growth in an effort to overcome the economic downturn.
