ISEQ down at market close
The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed down 55.75 points to 2,674.86 by 6pm.
It was mostly negative news for the financial heavyweights, Bank of Ireland dropped 11c off its share price after reporting a 32% drop in first-half profits earlier today. Anglo Irish Bank suffered the most significant loss, down 22c to €1.73 with Irish Life and Permanent following the negative trend falling 21c to €1.70. AIB bucked the negative trend gaining a modest 8c to €2.98 by market close.
