ISEQ gains some ground

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 133.72 points to 2,914.74 by market close this evening.

The financial heavyweights led the way with AIB up 31c to €3.72, Irish Life and Permanent jumping 16c to €3.85 and Bank of Ireland up 9c to €1.92. Anglo Irish Bank followed the positive trend gaining a modest 4c to €2.07.
