The ISEQ index of Irish shares showed no signs of improvement this morning falling 106.07 points (just over 2%) to 4,099.60 by 11.15am.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares showed no signs of improvement this morning falling 106.07 points (just over 2%) to 4,099.60 by 11.15am.

After another dismal day globally on the markets, all the financial heavyweights lingered in negative territory. AIB lead the way, down 41c to €7.10 with Anglo Irish Bank dropping 29c to €4.36. Bank of Ireland fell 19c to €4.59 with Irish Life and Permanent faring slightly better down 6c to €5.79.
