Unions to discuss strategy for pursuing pay claims

Private-sector trade unions are due to meet this afternoon to decide on a strategy for pursuing pay claims following the collapse of national pay talks over the weekend.

A number of unions say they plan to lodge pay claims with individual employers after ICTU and IBEC failed to agree on a new national deal during negotiations that ended in the early hours of Saturday morning.
