FTSE dragged down

The FTSE 100 Index was on course for a miserable end to the week after being dragged down by oil and mining companies today.

London’s top flight index dropped 40.9 points to 5245.4 by mid-morning as oil and metal prices remained well down from prices seen earlier this week.
