Car sales plummet 30%

There were 12,172 new cars licensed in May 2008, compared with 20,232 in May, 2007, a decrease of 39.8%, the Central Statistics Office said today.

First licensing of second-hand private cars decreased by 468 (8.4%) on the same month last year.
