The European Central Bank (ECB) looks set to raise interest rates next month after new data showed eurozone inflation had risen to a record 3.75% for the 12 months to the end of May.

The European Central Bank (ECB) looks set to raise interest rates next month after new data showed eurozone inflation had risen to a record 3.75% for the 12 months to the end of May.

The ECB has already sent out a strong signal that rates will go up from the present level of 4% at its July monthly meeting causing misery for mortgages and those with bank loans.
