Bank of Ireland boss bullish about future growth
These may be challenging times for financial institutions with a squeeze on global credit and uncertainly on the international financial markets but Bank of Ireland chief executive Brian Goggin believes his institution is well placed to deliver future growth.
He made his remarks on the occasion of the bank's annual results and during the briefing revealed they took a €125m-hit over market volatility but with pre-tax profit up 6% to 1,794 million and customer deposits growing by 19% the bank is in better shape than many of its international counterparts.
